LOCAL ISSUES
Clark County developer, Larry Carnarelli, desires to develop 3,800 homes on 700 acres of quarry land
south of Railroad Pass in Eldorado Valley for teachers, nurses, firefighters, and policemen.
He also proposes swapping this land for the 1,200 acres in Dutchman's Pass.
Local politicians are trying to figure out a way to accomodate him.
Dutchman's Pass is adjacent to Sloan Canyon Conservation Area, which is
Nevada's most valuable archeological resource. Pictures of Dutchman's Pass follow:

This reminds us of a slogan for a T-shirt (albeit a long one):
Boulder City gave up beautiful Dutchman's Pass (worth about a $1 billion),
And all we got was a lousy, ugly, money-losing quarry.
